Codekontrol World blog is...with every post we'll try and give you a few uncensored and open hearted lines about what's going on in the Codekontrol Universe: first and foremost as a collective of real people; some of us artists, some promoters or some just clubbers all united by a common lust for good electronic music and clubbing. We're learning how to write this journal as we go along so please try to be patient and critical with us at the same time. We want to put everything on the table, and try to keep it real! No bull and no sales pitch. Just real one-to-one conversation. So help us God!(the electronic version :) At the fist slight feel of bull, please be ruthless and open fire! It's all good and very welcome. It will also make you feel better.

Techalot - for the short attention spanned:

Plastikman Live Stage:

Kicking off let's begin with every bodies favourite supergeek megastar 'Richie Hawtin' talking through the tools and tech he used for the Plastikman Live stage tour:

Amon Tobin 'ISAM' Live:

Next up Amon Tobin takes his stage show to a whole another level using the same technology used for 3D Building Projections:
Amon Tobin 'ISAM' Live : Mutek Premiere (Official):

AudioTube:

AudioTube - A random video site I found with a limited selection of ORIGINAL videos from some Bpitch and other Old School artist like Prodigy and Basement Jaxx that are hard to find . Downside is Adele "Chasing Pavements" plays automatically when you open the site (but maybe that is a bonus for some?).

Pioneer DDJ T1:

This review of the new Pioneer DDJ T1 that just drove me mad - How do you review a brand new piece of DJ gadgety designed for Traktor? Get a well know DJ to show you how they use it in the wild? No no, Get some tool who is more interested in the finish of the product than what it does, Then have him badly mix two awful tracks while failing to understand the sync function, talking randomly about whatever is in front of him skipping over any unique features, like the finger slide track skipping. ...Rant over.

In Fairness the Offical Video is not even that much better:

About.me:

Think of this as a Digital Business Card available to everyone showing your Bio and links with a nice custom backdrop.- It gives a pretty slick one stop shop for people to find out about you and is attracting all media types from producers to artist to developers. One of the things I like is the The "Random Profile" Button which can bring up some interesting sights. At the minute they have some link to a printing company where they will offer you 50 free business cards (but you pay the P+P).

All about about.me from about.me on Vimeo.

That's it really.. only thing left is to say Thanks to Alpha Channel for letting me shamelessly rip of the name of one of his tracks (",)

  1. Great post. My pick of the bunch has to be the Pioneer reviews. lolz all the way :) About.me is also a slightly interesting idea. Whay I still am not too sure about is how many people are fond of having all of their online life synchronised in one place. It is nevertheless the seed of the future. I believe each one of us should and will have their own little portal which feeds into what you do online everyday. But, and there's a big BUT here, as it is right now, 1st there are the very valuable privacy and anonimity thingies that seem to fade away in this idea. In my opinion these "thingies" are the trademark of the web, however ilusiory, people enjoy NOT having everything they do online in the eyes of everybody. But I might also just be a bit old school thinking here. As I am right now, I still aven't gotten around to the habbit of using Twitter for everyday issues, not sure I'll ever do as I'm quite loving the normal blog wordpress style. For me, someone form the outside, twitter just seems like a massive ecosystem running on spam and comercial messages. Conversations are too short to ever develop into something meaningful and more likely into online shouting. of course if you'd want to start a revolution tommorow, that would be another issue...

  2. Thanks Triple - Glad you like it.
I know what you mean about the difference between public on-line and private. Some people manage to keep these two very separate but as the use of mobile technology increases these lines are going to blur. Facebook alone backs up over 25 Terabytes a day of log files, and that is just one company. Imagine what data companies like Microsoft, Apple and Google hold with the hope they can use it to sell you something... Being private is now a near impossibility.
As for Twitter I completely agree - I have seen it used a few times very well to give out rapidly changing information like when BA cancelled flights due to bad weather or the protesters in Spain arranging meeting locations - But would I use it to check peoples daily life and activities??.. Probably not.
